How it works
For each ST/SE transaction set: expected payment = sum of CLP04 (claim payment amounts, reversals are negative) minus the sum of PLB adjustment amounts (PLB03/04, 05/06 and so on; a positive PLB amount reduces the payment and a negative one increases it). The difference BPR02 minus expected must be zero. BPR01 H (notification only) is reported but not proved; a negative BPR02 is a warning; a transaction with no BPR or no CLP is an error. Amounts are compared in integer cents. This proves one file against itself only; matching remittances to a ledger or bank deposit is out of scope (see remittance-ledger-matcher), and per-claim line balancing is in x12-835-payment-parser.
